Hi there— I’m Kai, founder of KAI’s Tiny Homes and an interior designer with a deep passion for crafting beautiful, modern, eco-friendly tiny homes.
With a formal education in graphic design, my approach seamlessly merges graphic design sensibilities with spatial design principles to redefine tiny homes, creating harmonious, functional living spaces.
My Story
Embarking on this journey to establish a tiny home design company, I encountered numerous challenges alongside inspiring breakthroughs.
Since my teenage years, the allure of alternative living beckoned, fueled by the daunting costs of New York City living and the desire to live closer to nature. This pursuit led me to van life, but a misstep with a faulty van redirected my path. It was three enlightening tiny home Airbnb stays, and numerous hours researching tiny homes around the world, that sparked a relentless flow of brand new ideas.
Tiny homes, I realized, are not just about living small; they're about living large. They offer a compact yet complete lifestyle, liberating people financially and personally, paving the way for a life rich with travel and time to pursue passions.

Our journey starts with your dream. Our design consultation is the cornerstone of our commitment to delivering not just a house, but a beloved home.
We listen intently to understand your vision, needs, the nuances of your lifestyle, and your budget to create a custom space just for you.

After the initial consultation, clients will purchase a full tiny home design workshop. The workshop is a comprehensive three-hour session focusing on in-depth design development.
The design process will continue beyond the workshop, based on the project timeline outlined by both the Designer and Client. We will engage in ongoing communication to discuss updates to the design post-workshop as per the outlined project timeline. This collaboration ensures that the design evolves in line with the Client’s expectations and feedback.
At the end, you will receive:
A full, 21-page plan of your custom tiny home that includes:
4 exterior isometrics & 4 perspectives
Floor plans
Elevations, Sections, & Shell Sections
Joinery Schedule
Cabinetry Plans
Electrical Plans
A personalized SketchUp File for your tiny home
5 Building Guides
Land location resources

Clients who book the Full Tiny Home Design Workshop have the option to purchase add-ons while booking.

An interactive workshop offered via Zoom, for those interested in learning the art of tiny home design & 3D modeling. Connect and create with up to 20 tiny home enthusiasts in an engaging, collaborative class.
The class utilizes “Tiny Easy,” a specialized tiny home design software, with our expert designer, Kai, facilitating the design process.
After the class, participants will receive:

Render service is available for all clients requesting a completed home design.
Clients may request specific angles to be rendered such as detail views, aerial views, sectional views, perspective views, and panoramic views.
Animated walkthroughs/video tours are available upon client request.
Material change requests should be made prior to requesting your home design to be rendered.

For clients looking to completely redesign or turn their incomplete shell, trailer, or shipping container into a tiny home, we offer interior design services. We’ll create a custom layout based on your needs, preferences, and specified dimensions.
